The board of VES Survey International is made up of its primary shareholders, managers, and independent directors, who bring decades of experience running small, medium, and global oilfield service companies and expertise in systems, service delivery, marketing, technology development, and finance to the strategic leadership of the Company.
Gary Vaughn, Co-Founder of VES Survey International, is based in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. Vaughn co-founded Vaughn Energy Services, the predecessor company to VES, in 1999, and oversees all U.S. operations, including service delivery, business development and training and recruitment. He has over 40 years of experience in the survey market, starting with Eastman Whipstock as a surveyor running gyro and magnetic survey instruments and then later as a district manager. Mr. Vaughn has founded and led a number of companies in the directional drilling and surveying market, including Multishot Inc. and Vaughn Guidance.
Nick Wallis, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of VES, is based in Tewkesbury, U.K. Mr. Wallis co-founded Vaughn Energy Services, the predecessor company to VES, in 1999 and oversees tool manufacturing, repair and technology development. He started his career in the aerospace industry before joining SperrySun in 1986 to work on the design and development of a gyro survey system. After completing that project, he worked for the company in business development on a worldwide basis. Following that, Mr. Wallis served as Managing Director of Russell Sub-surface until its acquisition in 1999. Mr. Wallis is a Chartered Engineer with a degree in Electronics and an MBA.
Saad Bargach is an independent director of VES Survey International. He brings to that role a 30-year career as an oilfield service executive and investor. Mr. Bargach was previously a Managing Director at Lime Rock Partners in the firm’s Houston and Dubai offices. Prior to joining Lime Rock, Mr. Bargach worked for more than 23 years at Schlumberger, holding a number of positions including Chief Information Officer; President, Well Completions & Productivity; President of Consulting & Systems Integration for SchlumbergerSema; President of the Drilling and Measurement division; and President, Oilfield Services for Africa and Near East. Mr. Bargach serves on the board of a number of oilfield service companies worldwide and has degrees in both electrical engineering (B.S.) and control systems (M.S.).
J McLane is a Managing Director at Lime Rock Partners, an energy-focused private equity firm focused on building differentiated E&P and oilfield service companies worldwide. Based in Houston, he has worked for Lime Rock Partners since its inception in 1998. Prior to joining Lime Rock, Mr. McLane was in the Corporate Development Group of Pioneer Natural Resources. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., B.B.A.) and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.). He serves on the boards of a number of Lime Rock Partners portfolio companies in the E&P and oilfield service sectors.
Bernard (Bernie) Ridgeway is the Managing Director of Imdex Ltd., a Perth, Australia-based publicly-traded provider of drilling fluids and advanced downhole survey instrumentation to the mining, oil and gas, water well, HDD and civil engineering industries worldwide. Mr. Ridgeway has been involved with a number of public and private companies for the last 20 years as an owner, Director or Manager and has extensive experience and expertise in Finance, Administration, Marketing and Business Development. Mr. Ridgeway is also a Non-Executive Director of Sino Gas & Energy Holdings Ltd. Mr. Ridgeway is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Paul Neilsen is an independent director of VES Survey International and is based in Perth, Western Australia. Mr Neilsen has an extensive background in management, banking, financial analysis, M&A and IP. Mr Nielsen recently worked with Imdex Limited, a Perth, Australia-based publicly-traded provider of drilling fluids and advanced downhole survey instrumentation to the mining, oil and gas, water well, HDD and civil engineering industries worldwide.M Nielsen was General Manager of Imdex’s global office in Dubai and was also responsible for management of the company’s IP. While at Imdex, he played a pivotal role in the acquisition and integration of several downhole instrumentation companies. Prior to joining Imdex, Mr Neilsen managed the Commonwealth Bank Australia’s Corporate Banking Division in Western Australia.
Rob Willings is a Director at Lime Rock Partners, an energy-focused private equity firm focused on building differentiated E&P and oilfield service businesses worldwide. He has been based in Lime Rock’s Dubai office since 2009 and was based in the firm's Aberdeen office prior to that. Prior to joining Lime Rock in 2005, Mr. Willings spent a dozen years in operations and energy finance. He began his career in 1993 at Schlumberger Wireline & Testing in the North Sea and Argentina. In 1998, he joined PA Consulting Group as a principal consultant, and joined Simmons & Company’s Aberdeen office in 2001 where he was involved in numerous oilfield service transactions. Mr. Willings serves on the boards of a number of Lime Rock portfolio companies worldwide.
